The Commonwealth Scholarship is a universities based scholarship program by The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission (CSC). It is a fully-funded scholarship for international students of low and middle-income countries. This scholarship provides an amazing opportunity to international students to study free in top universities in UK. It is offers to students who want to pursue their masters (if you have 16 years of education) or PhD in UK. You can find you country in list of Eligible Countries.

Eligibility Criteria

 Your country must be in the list of eligible countries, before you go for further requirements.

• Students must be permanent residents of any eligible countries. Dual nationals are not eligible.
• Be available to start academic studies in the UK by the start of the UK academic year in September 2024.
• This scholarship appreciate those whose students that are unable to afford to study in the UK without this scholarship.
• For Master scholarship, an applicant must hold a first division in 16 years Bachelors/master’s degree in the relevant field of study.
• For PhD scholarship, an applicant must hold a first division in 17/18 years Masters/MS/MPhil degree in the relevant field of study.
• Candidate must not have Second/Third division in the terminal/last degree. Result-awaiting candidates are eligible to apply.
• You must not apply for your second master's degree in UK. If you apply you should justify why you wish to undertake this study.

Benefits/Perks

The CSC scholarship provides:

• Approved return airfare to the scholar once the scholarship is awarded.
• Full Tuition fee will be covered.
• Monthly stipend (living allowance) of £1,347 to £1652 based on the universities and region.
• Warm clothing allowance (where applicable).
• Study travel grant towards the cost of study-related travel within UK or overseas.

How to apply

Application for the Commonwealth scholarships for 2024/25 are open now.  So, you can apply from Commonwealth web portal or from your country respective education commission. 

Last Date: The deadline to apply is 17 October, 2023.
